YOUTH M.D.
The goal of YOUTH M.D. here at Shiloh, is to make strong disciples for the Lord, Jesus Christ. By providing bible studies, missions, retreats, and fellowship opportunities, we hope to spiritually develop youth who see the world as God's mission field, and where they may join Him in this task with the spiritual gifts and abilities He has given to them.
Our youth ministry at Shiloh is very active in missions. For the past five years we have collected and have taken winter clothing to the people of Welch, West Virginia. We have done missions work in many states throughout the southeast and we have led internatioal mission trips to the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Ukraine. We are in involved with the Habitat for Humanity Recycling Center. And we recently led a Vaction Bible School for the children of the Lake Park Community.
Discipleship process:
Mission: The youth of Shiloh Baptist Church will become strong disciples for Christ through the Motivate, Make, and Move discipleship process. By attending meeting times, they will become motivated to love God with all their heart and their neighbor (Motivate); by growing as a disciple (Make); and serving others (Move).
Scriptural Basis (Clarity)
Jesus called twelve disciples and through their three year journey serving together in the Lord’s ministry, they were motivated (Motivate) to leave the cares and concerns of this world (Matthew 6:19-33) for the pursuit of the Kingdom of God and to love one another (John 13:34-35). During their time with Jesus, they sat under his teaching and preaching (Matthew 5, 6 and 7) which was making (Make) them look more Him (Luke 10:17) and less like them (John 18:10-11). After His resurrection, Jesus, commissioned his disciples to go (Move) into all the world preaching the gospel, making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that he commanded them (Matthew 28:18-20).

2011/12 Youth Activities Opportunities
- Youth Sunday (Spring 2012) (Move)
Youth are responsible for leading the congregation in worship.
- Youth Dominican Republic summer mission trip (June 16-23) (Move)
This is an incredible mission opportunity for our youth. It is a highlight of being in the youth ministry here at Shiloh. Youth get a chance to see the foreign mission field without flying around the world. This trip will be around $1,000.00 per-youth. They will need a passport ($100.00) that is good for 10 years. The first $100.00 deposit will be due in September. Each month will have a deposit due until the time of the trip. The church will pay a part which will be determined.
- Summer Caswell (July 16-21) (Make)
This is a wonderful summer camp/retreat. There will be more details in the future. The cost is about $200.00 per-youth.
