Preschool
The Mission of Shiloh Baptist Church Preschool
The Preschool Program of Shiloh Baptist Church seeks to provide opportunities for children ages two through four to grow in a Christ-centered, nurturing and educational environment.
Age appropriate opportunities are provided for each child to develop in their emotional, social, intellectual, physical and spiritual growth. Children will be exposed to colors, numbers, letters, shapes, calendar time, art activities, Bible themes and more.
We believe that each child is a unique and precious gift of God. We seek to provide a wholesome and safe environment where children can enjoy learning about themselves, the world, the Creator and the Savior.
The Shiloh Baptist Church Preschool Program desires to honor the Lord Jesus Christ in ministry to families of young children and to complement the ministry and mission of Shiloh Baptist Church

Curriculum
ABeka: This is a Christian curriculum based out of Florida. It is a structured curriculum focusing on Bible themes, scripture memory, letter and number recognition, letter sounds, fundamentals of reading, and basic math skills. We begin using this curriculum in the two-year-old class. It, then, builds on itself for each progressing year. For example, in the two-year-old class, they are beginning with letter and number recognition. The three-year-old class is working with a review of letter/number recognition as well as beginning with letter sounds. The four-year-old class is working on basic math skills, a review of letter sounds, and learning the fundamentals of reading. Our four-year-olds reach milestone after milestone as they work through their readers.
Wee Learn: Wee Learn is a Lifeway Christian Bookstores curriculum. In order to complement the structure of the ABeka curriculum, Wee Learn is a thematic, centers-based curriculum. Students go center-to-center enjoying a hands-on learning experience. Children are exploring their environment through purposeful, fun learning activities.
Year-in-Review
The following are the special events that the students took part in during the 2010-2011 school year:
Open House
First Day of School
Pajama Day
Fire Safety Day
Thanksgiving Feast
Coat Drive
Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes
Tree Trimming
Jesus’ birthday party
Spaghetti Fundraiser
Hat Day
Muffins for Mom
Doughnuts for Dad
Chick-fil-a night
Easter Egg Hunt
Field Day
All of these events make our year truly memorable, but the heart of our program rests in the truth of God’s Word. Through daily chapel times, bible lessons, worship time, group prayer time, scripture memory, and those teachable moments, our little ones experienced the Lord each and every day. That is something this world can never take away.
Summer Program
This summer, we will be offering a two week summer program. Our summer program will run from Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 29. The hours of the program will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. During the program, students will enjoy a packed schedule full of organized play, theme-based projects, and hands-on centers. We will also work a great deal with water and bubbles. We are working with the Christian company Creation Arts (http://www.creationarts.org/). Creation Arts will work with our little ones for an hour each Wednesday on a Christian perspective to the arts: music, gymnastics, and creative movement. Call 704-283-4451 for more information |
